TADLOCK posted by Cindy Loiacano on Friday, December 12, 1997

I am trying to find the name of the ship that my ancestor Thomas TADLOCK came to America on. We were told that he was Scottish, but he may have been English or Irish. He could not write so the name may have been changed to it's phonetic spelling. The first record of him appears on the land grantor listing for Johnston/Doobs/Lenior/Grantor counties in the book for 1750-1754. If anyone has information, can tell me how to look this up or can research the ships records of that period please contact me.

My family runs into a dead end in the early 1800's in Seven Springs, N. C.. Anyone searching in Dobbs County would or should check in Lenoir, Wayne, Greene and Duplin Counties as well. Thanks for posting my information.
