Researching ancestor Thomas Scott (1752-1824) and brother Andrew Scott (1753-1817). Both apprenticed by court in New Bern in 1765. Thomas, a member of the Dobbs County Militia, fought in the battle at Moore's Creek 2/27/1776. Their plantation land was located in the Buck Swamp area near Belfast-Pikeville, Wayne County.

Absalom and Sarah had Giles WILLIAMS b. ca. 1767 Dobbs County d. 1843 Robeson County NC. Giles WILLIAMS m. Sarah HERRING, dau of Michael HERRING and Charity GRADY. By 1790, this WILLIAMS family was listed in Wayne County NC.
