I am researching the STONE family tree & in doing so it has lead me to Dobbs County to the Pre 1880s. My relative Philip Stone was a witness to a lot of deeds I see plus he bought land around Falling Creek. Does this name sound familiar to you? I was hoping to find a little more on him, like who was this Margaret he married & if he had children & if he died in Dobbs County? Any help or advice you could give me would be greatly appreciate.

My information indicates that George P. KINCEY was born in Lenoir County in 1805. Evidence points to his family being from that area for several years which would place them there while Dobbs was still a county. Unfortunately, due to the Lenoir County Courthouse fire in 1878, I haven't yet been able to break through the generation I am stalled on.
