Thomas, a member of the Dobbs County Militia, fought in the battle at Moore's Creek 2/27/1776. Their plantation land was located in the Buck Swamp area near Belfast-Pikeville, Wayne County.

By 1790, this WILLIAMS family was listed in Wayne County NC.
