Seeking information on Edmund COOR, b. Wayne County 1811, d. Wayne Co. 1895, married 1st Anna Mariah COX (who I believe was his first cousin. Her father was Levi COX). Edmund m. 2d Adrianna HOOKS, my great-grandmother. I believe, but can not prove, that Edmund's parents were William COOR (also spelled CORE) and Louisa COX (Levi COX's sister). _______ CORE and Louisa COX were married in May, 1810, and their marriage was not recognized by the Contentnea Friends Meeting. I need infor- mation which would connect the CORE that married Louisa COX in 1810 with Edmund COOR, who I believe was their first, perhaps only, son. Louisa COX COOR died in Tennessee (probably William- son County) in 1817. William COOR was a son of Thomas COOR, SR. of Dobbs County.

I am trying to find a birth around 1785 for >Isaiah VICK. I don't know which part of the County Isaiah was born The AF says he >was born 13 Nov 1785. The submitter must have found that date somewhere, I >just can't seem to find where! I'm hoping he is connected to the Joseph VICK >of the Isle of Wight, VA. His descendants went down into NC, and then over to >TN, MS, LA and into TX. That is the same route Isaiah seems to have taken, so >I'm hopeful:) > >

I have been working on my BENSON line for many years and I recently found in the 1790 census of Dobbs County a listing of William BENSON and his family and another listing for Richard BENSON who was apparently grown but single. All I have found until now was references to Richard BENSON in Springfield, Robertson Co., TN. I have considerable info on the family from Richard BENSON on down to me, including a home-made record book of his (described below). I have no dates on William and his wife Nancy but Richard died in TN in 1841. Perhaps his father died in Dobbs county before Richard moved to TN. If you have any info or know of any links that may help me I would appreciate hearing from you. "Richard Allen Benson maintained a "copy book" , home-made book bound with rough leather which he used at various periods in his life from July 28, 1800, until his death in 1841. Additional entries were made by his family until , at least, 1850. The first 58 pages of the book are devoted to rules of weights and measure, money, arithmetic, etc., apparently from school. Additional entries include:
1. A list of birth dates of his children.
2. A list of children born to his slaves.
3. A list of marriages of his children, including what was given them.
4. Several pages covering his military service as a Captain in the Tennessee Militia where he served with Major General Andrew Jackson in his campaign against the Creek Indians and other battles in the War of 1812.
5. Several pages of sample legal documents he would use in his capacity as Justice of the Peace.
6. Several pages of accounts from a general store he operated. This book is in the posession of John Frederick Marshall and is reported to have been submitted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Salt Lake City for microfilming. His original hand-written will is also with the book." John F. Marshall
