Her second husband was my sixthgreatgrandfather James OATS. He was born in 1724 in Perquimans Co.NC. He died 1766 in Dobbs County.James andSarahwere married in 1752. Their children were John, 1753, Susanner 1756-1835, James 1757-1815, Samuel 1760-1801,Richard Wyatt 1762-1851, and Stephenson 1764-1817. James and Sarah were married 1752. If there is anyone doing research on this family please contact me.

Have been told that a Jacob HOLLAND of Dobbs, NC eventually moved to Abbeville, SC, then to Wilkinson County, GA then to Alamaba where he died. We believe this is our g/g/g/g/ Grandfather. Israel BAXTER first shows up in the 1743 court records of New Bern. He may have left Perquimans and settled in Old Bath and Craven Counties with the GODFREY, TULE or OATES families.
