I am trying to find the name of the ship that my ancestor Thomas TADLOCK came to America on. We were told that he was Scottish, but he may have been English or Irish. He could not write so the name may have been changed to it's phonetic spelling. The first record of him appears on the land grantor listing for Johnston/Doobs/Lenior/Grantor counties in the book for 1750-1754. If anyone has information, can tell me how to look this up or can research the ships records of that period please contact me.

My family runs into a dead end in the early 1800's in Seven Springs, N. C.. Other family members, relatives recall that the WARDs came from an area known today as Little Baltimore in Lenoir County, N.C. This would have been in the Dobbs County area in the late 1700's. Anyone searching in Dobbs County would or should check in Lenoir, Wayne, Greene and Duplin Counties as well. Thanks for posting my information.

Thanks for web page. I am searching for BARTLETT. My mother descends from the Bartletts in present day Wayne County, NC. My earliest record is a voting register of Dobbs County that shows that Samuel BARTLETT voted in 1769. I know about the fires in Greene and Lenoir Counties. Are there any Dobbs County records available. I've seen the deed indexes at NC Archives. Any help or direction will be appreciated. Dan Jackson
